The Body & Mind Connection :A Public Health Perspective
The objectives of this conference are to:

  • Present the Public Health Model as it relates to Behavioral Health and Mental Illness.
  • Define the concept of Integrated Health Care as it pertains to a Healthy Mind and Body.
  • Present information about comorbidity of medical and mental disorders and disparities in health and healthcare for people living with a mental illness.
  • Identify efforts to address these concerns by presenting projects/programs designed to improve services, including prevention and treatment approaches.
  • Discuss the activities/actions that could be taken by the Public Health Sector to improve services and outcomes for persons with both chronic disease and mental illness.
